The perfect opportunity to build project management, public speaking, and other organizational skills while also giving back to the community
The Loaned Executive (LE) Program provides an opportunity for companies to offer employees a unique learning experience with numerous benefits. LEs serve as ambassadors for United Way within our local community during our peak campaign season, working with the United Way Corporate Relation Managers to help create fundraising goals, design campaign strategies, and support corporate philanthropy in the Valley’s top companies.
Your company will gain high visibility within the community, while your employee receives a significant career enrichment opportunity. Make this lasting investment in your best employees and your community through the Loaned Executive Program.
For the first two weeks, LEs undergo training on communication and presentation skills, project management skills, and interpersonal and management competencies. Participants become passionate advocates for the community and engage in group volunteer projects, tours of partner organizations, campaign cabinet meetings, and speaking events with various audiences about the work of Valley of the Sun United Way.
As the landscape shifts due to COVID-19, Valley of the Sun United Way is committed to supporting our Loaned Executives with virtual training and work-at-home opportunities. We will continue to evaluate the needs of our corporate partners and each employee, as we work together to determine the safest and most effective way to provide storytelling and presentations out in the field.
“My experience as a Loaned Executive can be summed up in one word, IMPACT! The impact that the VSUW has in the local community and the impact that the program had on me is absolutely amazing. It allows you to see the integral part United Way plays in bringing together corporate partners, volunteers, donors, non-profits and the community. The teamwork and collaboration with all of these groups to help an area thrive is truly inspiring. I would suggest to anyone that might have the opportunity to be a Loaned Executive to jump at the chance ASAP. It will provide so many professional development opportunities from presentation skills to project management, but for me, the personal growth will be unforgettable!”
